Synopsis: A woman (Bening) boards an airplane that is about to be hijacked. When she comes to terms with the fact that she will probably die she tries to fix her past. Through a series of flashbacks the viewer witnesses her collapsing marriage with her husband (Fiennes), her passionate affair with their gardener (Bernal), and her horrible relationship with her daughter (Wood) and her much-too-old boyfriend (Pitt). She picks up the phone on the plane and calls her family to tell them how sorry she is for everything she has done.
What the press would say:Excellent performances abound in this emotional and moving drama. Bening should finally win the Oscar she has been long overdue for. The combination of Cuaron and Inarritu proves to be irresistable. Ultimately, this film is about how people allow their lives to spin out of control so easily, and how life should not be taken for granted. Any given day could be your last. This film should be required viewing for everyone.
