Synopsis: Julia Andress (Julia Roberts) & Renee Raleigh (Renee Zellweger) are two big Hollywood actresses, having starred in numerous movies in recent years. Julia is engaged to fellow actor George Hurt (George Clooney) and are planning to get married soon. Also planning to get married are Renee and beau, Jude Harper. Their publicist (Will Ferrell) decided that it would be a great publicity to actually hold their weddings together, thanks to famed wedding planner, Andrea King (Whoopi Goldberg). But Julia & Renee are not for the idea, especially both being jealous of each other. But news has spread throughout Tinseltown, thanks to nosey reporter Marcia Morgan (Lisa Kudrow), and everyone is anticipating it. So will the wedding still take place and how will Julia & Renee stand to be cordial to each other and make sure that the other doesn't upstage her? Will it truly be the Wedding of the Year?

What the press would say:

Julia Roberts and Renee Zellweger gave their best comedic performances to date, each with being a diva. Their scenes together are totally wicked, especially when they are trying to upstage each other in the interview scene with Lisa Kudrow. Lisa excels also acting as a nosey reporter going all the way to find out the best scoops. With her flashy clothes and exaggerated drawls, Lisa's a true delight on screen. George Clooney and Jude Law do their best given their limited roles, with the focus more on the actresses. Juse Law especially stands out with his one-liners, especially during the scene with Renee when she starts sulking and giving temperaments. Will Ferrell & Whoopi Goldberg share an excellent comic timing given their sneaky ways to make sure that the wedding take place. Praise are to be given to also to Natalie Portman, as the upcoming actress who is stealing the limelight with her antics, and to Dustin Hoffman, as the producer who plans to do a recording of the show. Charlie Kaufman has always churned out good screenplays, and this is one of his best work, with his trademark quirky humour.
